4.4 without the rollout, but still pretty crazy for an AWD car on 225 width run flats and just over 300 hp

Can haz manuel?

Nope.

In Europe you can

Both the RWD and AWD models can be had with it in Canada.

You sure? I just built one on BMW USA and was able to select it as a no cost option.

According to BMW’s website, both the RWD and AWD models can be had with a six-speed manual.

Hmm. I missed that. Where does the option show up in the configurator?
![]() 05/20/2016 at 11:38 |

At the very bottom of the options page. Literally the last thing you select before you move onto the financing portion of the site (i.e., the “man, I’m too poor to even look at this” page).

Ok, I didn’t get that far. I figured it would be in the package options or alongside engine selection.

Nope. Kind of silly, really.

Weird. When I tried to build any 3-series it didn’t give me the option. Instead, the automatic was stated as “Standard”
Edit: Found it. It’s really an optional. Usually it’s the first thing you chose.

Well it was slightly hidden for me. At the last tab for options. Almost like they don’t want anyone to select it.

You know what 4 door sedan is just as fast and cheaper?
Boom. Just as fast, and still RWD.

Do want. I nfact I’d probably take this over an M3 and use the savings for something else.

Can it turn? Or fit in a city parking space?

Here’s my build. Came to $51,695. Oof.

Managed to configure a competing Jag to the exact same price. No manual option, though.

Yes. It’s less than a second slower than a Golf R around Motor Trend’s Figure 8. And it’s shorter, and narrower than a Honda Odyssey, so it can fit in a city spot no problem.

But can it turn? Those tires have got to be awful. If you want performance, I can think of some better options for less.

no manual tho

For a daily driver, do you honestly care when it sounds like this?
![]() 05/20/2016 at 19:42 |

yep. stick or nothing

Have fun with your slower, less efficient, faster depriciating car. With units like today’s ZF 8 speeds, manual transmissions are becoming less and less suitable for these applications. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good shifter, it’s just that nobody really needs a manual in these types of cars, and the downisdes to rowing your own gears noticeably outweigh the benefits.

Thats the base price? $60,000 and thats the story of BMW.

Yeah the only appeal that the M3 really has is the slightly lower weight

i do. don't want an auto.

So you would kick a P1, Regera, or C7 Z06 out of the garage? Whatever floats your boat.

C7 Z06 is equipped with a stick, so nope! and I'd rather a stick when I have a choice between two cars (when one offers it and one doesn't) that doesn't mean that if I had millions I wouldn't own an automatic hypercar
